Prior to Southern - Wright played at Bixby High School for coach Scott Padek and the Spartans. A three-year starter and four-year letterwinner on the basketball court, Wright averaged 12.6 points per game last year as a junior, while shooting 47 percent from the field, 41 percent from the three point line and 79 percent from the free-throw line. He was an All-Conference pick, as well as an Academic All-Conference selection and Oklahoma Hoops listed him as one of the elite shooters in the state. Wright was also a quarterback and a wide receiver on the football team.

Personal - The son of Steve and Kari Wright, Austin plans to major in business at Southern.
