Joplin, Mo. -- Keane Thomann scored 28 points and added nine rebounds in helping to lead the Missouri Southern men's basketball team to a 99-88 exhibition win over Livin' The Dream today in the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center.
Southern had four players score in double-figures, with three scoring 20 or more as Jason Adams had 22 points and eight boards, while Skyler Bowlin scored 20 and dished out 11 assists. Freshman Marquis Addison scored 11 points on 4-9 shooting from the field.
Livin' The Dream was led by former Colorado product Casey Crawford with 25 points, while former SBU standout D'Ante Harris scored 20.
The Lions opened up a 18-6 lead early on after a layup from Bowlin with 13:39 left in the first. A three from Harris with 9:01 left brought LTD back to within four at 24-20. The Lions' lead was 11 after a dunk by Adams with three minutes to go in the half. The halftime lead would be just five, however as a layup from Luther Glover made the score 35-30 going into the locker room.
LTD cut the lead to just two (51-49) with a three pointer from Crawford (two in a row for him) with 13 minutes left in the game. They would tie the game at 61 and take a 62-61 lead after a free-throw from Harris with nine minutes to go.
A layup from Thomann the next trip down, however would put the Lions back in the lead at 63-62 and the Lions would not look back, leading by as many as 11 twice down the stretch.
The Lions will open up the regular season on Monday, November 15 with a home game against Northeastern State at 7 pm.
