Kansas City, Mo. -- Missouri Southern senior defensive lineman Brandon Williams has been named the MIAA Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office today.
Williams, a 6-3, 325 senior from Kirkwood, Mo., had nine total stops, three of which came for a loss of 12 yards against Pittsburg State this past weekend. He forced a fumble, broke up a pass and had two sacks on the day. He increased his school record sack total to 27 in his career. He finished the season with 8.5 sacks and has three of the top five single season sack marks at Missouri Southern.
Williams is the son of Brad Williams and Shelly Washington.
