Southern football opens up 2012 season at Central Oklahoma

Joplin, Mo. - The Missouri Southern football team will open the 2012 campaign under head coach Daryl Daye this evening as the Lions travel to Central Oklahoma for a 7 pm kickoff in Wantland Stadium. 

The game is the first-ever in the series between UCO and the Lions and also matches up two coaches that are in the first year at their respecitve schools as UCO's Nick Bobeck makes the transition to four-year football after having coached at Navarro Junior College. Lions head coach Daryl Daye is back in the head coaching ranks for the first time since 2003 when he was the head coach at Division I Nicholls State.
