Ne'Ronte Threatt named MIAA Special Teams Player of the Week

Kansas City, Mo. -- After helping the Missouri Southern football team to an impressive 68-28 win last week against Southwest Baptist, junior wide out and kick returner Ne'Ronte Threatt has been named the MIAA's Special Teams Player of the Week as announced by the league office today. 

Threatt (5-9, 175) is a Texarkana, Texas native and prepped at Pleasant Grove High School. He had a banner day against SBU when he returned three kickoffs for an average of 43 yards per kick, including a 90-yard return for a touchdown late in the game. He also led the team in rushing with 79 yards on five carries, had four receptions for 94 yards and two scores and had 302 all-purpose yards in the game. 

He and the Lions will be back in action this Saturday when Southern plays host to fourth-ranked Northwest Missouri at Fred G. Hughes Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 2 pm and the Lions will celebrate their ten departing seniors.
