Shaun Hoover named to Rawlings/ABCA Central Region Gold Glove Team

Joplin, Mo. -- Missouri Southern senior first basemen Shaun Hoover has been named to the Rawlings/ABCA Central Region Gold Glove team, the coaches association announced today.

His .993 fielding percentage this season is sixth all-time in a single season in Missouri Southern history. The 553 chances he had at first base this year also qualifies him in the career category as Hoover now holds the career record for fielding percentage at the school. He had just four errors throughout the entire season.

He helped the Lions tie a school record for fielding percentage this season (.962) as the team matched the record they set last season.

Hoover is one of four players on the team from the MIAA and his name now goes on the national ballot which will be voted on at the 2013 NCAA Division II Baseball Championships this Saturday in Cary, NC.
