Prior to Southern - Hoover comes to Southern after a season at Northwestern State University. A teammate of incoming transfer Nick Doughty, Hoover is a native of Omaha, Neb. Last season at NSU, Hoover played in 25 games, starting 12. Prior to NSU, Hoover spent two seasons at Hutchinson Community College where he hit .323 with 12 home runs as a sophomore and .333 with five home runs as a freshman. A four-year letterwinner at Millard West High School in Omaha, he helped his team to state runner-up finishes in each of his junior and senior seasons.
