Joplin, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern baseball team split a pair of games today at Lincoln University, winning the opener 9-2, but falling 8-1 in game two.
The Lions (28-18, 19-17 MIAA) picked up a complete game win in the opener from senior Ethen Stenger as the St. Louis native went all seven, striking out three and walking just one, while allowing only two runs.
Lincoln (7-37, 7-28 MIAA) starter Chris Pfau shut down the Lions in game two, going all nine innings and limiting Southern to just two hits.
The Lions will be back in action next Friday and Saturday as Southern ends the regular season with a four-game set at home against Southwest Baptist. Saturday's games will feature senior day for the 15 Lions seniors on the roster.
