2015-16: Maydew played in all 30 games with 1 start for the Lions during her sophomore season...finished the season as the third leading scorer for Southern with 5.6 points per game while playing 16.9 minutes per contest...played a season-high 31 minutes in a 81-79 overtime loss to Central Oklahoma in Joplin on Dec. 3...also shot 58.3 percent (7-for-12), dished out three assists, and scored 18 points (all season-highs) against the Bronchos...was a perfect 3-for-3 from the three point line and a perfect 4-for-4 from the charity stripe against Avila on Nov. 24...pulled down a career-high 10 rebounds against the Mavericks of Minnesota State-Mankato on Nov. 18...also had three assists against Fort Hays State in the MIAA Post-season Tournament quarterfinal in Kansas City on March 3...scored in double figures five times during the season vs. Avila, Central Oklahoma, at Northwest Missouri, vs. Northeastern State, and against Fort Hays State.
2014-15: Played in 24 games with two starts for the Lions as a freshman...averaged 16.6 minutes per contest...shot 45 percent (44-for-98) from the field and went 12-for-26 from downtown for 46 percent...Maydew gathered 101 rebounds on the season for an average of 4.2 per game...led the team in blocks with 15 while dishing out seven assists and coming up with seven steals on the year...set a season high as she scored 18 points against Lincoln on February 28th...also set her season mark in field goal percentage with 54.5 percent (6-for-11) against the Blue Tigers...made a season high three three pointers as the Lions knocked off then seventh ranked Washburn Ichabods 66-62 in Topeka, Kansas on December 6th...Maydew pulled down a season high nine rebounds against Rockhurst in the Fairfield Inn/Pizza Hut Classic on November 15th...recorded two assists in the home win over Central Missouri on January 31st and two steals in the 101-46 win over Central Christian on November 25th...recorded two blocked shots three times during the season the most recent was in the overtime win at Northwest Missouri on February 11th.
Prior to Southern: Jenson was a four-year starter at forward and center at Pratt High School in Kansas playing for coach Dean Rausch ... A four-year letter winner, Maydew averaged 16 points, nine rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game as a senior, while shooting 48 percent from the floor and picking up All-State honors ... She earned second-team All-League honors as a junior while also being named honorable mention All-State ... She also was named to the Tournament of Champions first-team All-Tournament team ... As a sophomore in 2012 she earned all-league honorable mention ... She has helped the Greenbacks qualify for back-to-back state tournaments ... Maydew also lettered eight additional times in her prep career, four each in volleyball and track ... She earned unanimous first-team All-League honors in volleyball as a junior while being a three-time state qualifier in the shot put in track ... As a sophomore in 2012, she took fifth in the shot put at state helping the Greenbacks place third as a team while last year as a junior, she earned the league and regional championship in the shot while placing ninth at state in both the shot and discus.
Personal: The daughter of Troy and Kelley Maydew, Jenson is undecided on her major at Southern ... Her father played basketball at Kansas State, while her mother was a volleyball player at KSU ... her older brother Payson is a decathlete at Emporia State.
