Southern athletics places 25 on Division II Academic Achievement List

Complete list of student-athletes honored

Joplin, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern athletic department is proud to announce that 25 student-athletes were named to the Division II Athletic Director's Association Athletic Achievement List. 

Southern was one of 12 schools from the MIAA that nominated athletes for the award. A total of 6,922 student-athletes from 171 NCAA Division II institutions were recognized with the academic achievement award this year. The MIAA ranked third among all Division II conferences with 635 athletes being acknowledged.

The Academic Achievement Awards is a program that recognizes the academic accomplishments of student-athletes at the Division 2 level. To be selected for this academic award, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, have attended a minimum of two years of college level work and have been an active member of an intercollegiate team during the 2012-13 academic year.
